Neurodivergent Parents: a joyfully connected perspective

RECORDED workshop coming soon!

I set up Re:set School (now No Less Than Skies) to bring joyful connection to parents and educators to help them support the children in their care while honouring their own needs. I didn’t know then that I would be diagnosed as autistic, aged 39, having been led by my child to realise that I was. My daughter has also recently been diagnosed - we are joyfully connected in our neurodivergence. It’s bloody beautiful and totally overwhelming all the time.

I’ve learned a lot in 2020 and in this workshop to kick off 2021, I’m going to share that to support parents of neurodivergent children. I’ll be combining my knowledge and understanding from yoga, mindfulness and education with how I’ve applied that in the lived experience of parenting an autistic child, as an autistic human. For me, the personal and professional has always been a little mixed and this workshop is the perfect synthesis of that.

What you’ll get from the workshop:

  • An understanding of what being autistic is like for me

  • How I use that understanding to support my child (and so can you)

  • Ways to connect and empathise with your child, plus empower them to celebrate who they are

  • Focus on feelings and intuition and guiding your parenting from your heart

  • Tools and techniques to resource your energy and your child’s when you are dealing with meltdowns, shutdowns and other emotional challenges

  • The opportunity to send Holly questions specific to your family (max 2 emails exchanged)

Who the workshop is for:

  • Parents who want to actualise rather than normalise their neurodivergent children

  • Parents who have strong values, beliefs and ideas that they want to uphold while parenting their neurodivergent children

  • Parents who might feel tired and overwhelmed right now but know they have the heart strength and courage to raise their children with compassion and soul

  • Parents wondering if their children might be neurodivergent because they are experiencing a lot of emotional and behavioural challenges and/or noticing development they have questions about (I’ll be sharing my personal autistic experience which may help to give you a particular perspective - I can’t diagnose or even hypothesise what’s happening for you and your child)

  • Anyone who feels that pull to come - listen to your intuition…

I’m having to really be mindful of my energy and resources (aren’t we all?) and I had planned a series of workshops for January but - for now - this will be the only one of that series (the others will come later in the year). I really believe this is the one most important offering I can make - it’s going to be so supportive to create more connection with your child and help you to support them to find the everyday joy (and you to find it too).
